Ever thought of the people working around the clock to make that vacation of yours pleasant and memorable? There is pleasant atmosphere from the booking of tickets to the stay at the hotel room and beyond. You can be a part of such environment as there are fantastic hospitality jobs to work hard for that you can avail. Here are a few of jobs in tourism industry that you may find attractive:

Recreation attendant: This is a position usually available at theme parks and resorts. Responsibilities may include providing carts to golfers or organizing kiddy games at a resort; average intelligence combined with a little training may make you acceptable for the job. Average salary is $7.00 -- $8.00 an hour.

Concierge: These positions are available at star rated hotels and resorts. The concierge’s job is to assist guests with virtually any request they may have; making reservation at a restaurant, organizing group travel or activities, recommendation of places of interests are a few examples of the wide range of responsibilities. Average salary range is between $17,000.00 and $18,000.00 annually.

Director at a cruise ship: This lucrative position with high pay and the recruiters are passenger cruise ships. You may need to meet certain qualification or certification to qualify for the job. Responsibilities include planning all kinds of entertainments on the ship and at the shore for the passengers, be a the master of ceremonies and prepare tour itineraries. Salary ranges from $4500.00 to $7,000.00 a month depending on the liner.

Table game dealers: This is job at casinos; you would have to go to Las Vegas or Atlantic City or to any Indian reservation where they have casinos (for example, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods in Connecticut). Responsibility includes playing various table games like black-jack, roulette or craps with the customers; taking bets and paying out the winners are done by dealers as well. Average annual salary is about $15,000.00 -- $16,000.00.

Information desk clerk: This position is available at places like hotels, resorts, transportation agencies, tourists’ information center etc. You have to be able to answer almost every question the tourists may have with a smile on the face. Advising people on where to find certain type of food or which show to attend could be satisfying. Salary range for this position is around $18,000.00 to $19,000.00 annually.

These are just a few; there are many more occupations in the tourism and hospitality industry. You may choose to become a recreational worker or to be chauffeur, a booking clerk or a tour guide. Each job has its specialty and requires qualified persons accordingly. If you love vacationing and traveling, you may find some of these jobs tempting and very satisfying.
